Installing Fonts
Introduction
Installing new fonts in today’s operating systems is easier than it’s ever been. Whether you’re using Windows or macOS, you’ll be installing and using Dalton Maag fonts in no time at all.
Installing Fonts on Windows
There are a few different ways to install fonts in Windows, but most are cumbersome if you have more than one font file to install. We recommend the following approach:
- Open the Windows font folder at C:\Windows\Fonts in Explorer.
- Locate the OpenType (file extensions .ttf or .otf) fonts files that you have downloaded. If they have been delivered in a .zip file, you will need to extract them from the .zip file first.
- Drag the OpenType font files into the Fonts folder in Explorer.
- Rather than copying the files, this action actually installs them. You will see a progress bar as the fonts are installed.
- The fonts are now ready for use in all compatible Windows applications.
Installing Fonts on macOS
- Locate the OpenType (file extensions .ttf or .otf) fonts files that you have downloaded. If they have been delivered in a .zip file, you will need to extract them from the .zip file first.
- In turn, double-click each font file in Finder, then click the Install Font button at the bottom right of the preview window that appears.
- The fonts are now ready for use in all compatible macOS applications.
